The time I found my dreamed apartment I went all in decorating this place. It was the very first time I felt super comfortable mentally and financially to start not just living in my place but to enjoy my place. For the longest time I was always in the set thinking of not making holes on the walls or getting big furnitures because what if I have to move at the end of the lease. While that thinking helped me tremendously at the beginning of living a solo life, because my life was so much simpler and free when I first saw myself on my own, this time it just didn’t feel right to keep it so simple to the point of boredom in my own place. Several years later, owning my own fashion business and have lived different circumstances, I now feel less afraid of making my place as welcoming and cozy as possible. And, not just for myself but for the few guest I invite over for dinner here and there.
My design aesthetics involved keeping the balance through out the house. Symmetry is a huge part of my life, visually it has to look and feel balance. When I decorated this apartment It was my first time having a two bedroom so I applied my symmetry theory and decorated both rooms with the same bedspreads and it was the greatest idea and feeling I could have done. This Tan bedspread I got it from Costco, extremely reasonably priced. I purchased two of them, one for each room.
When I decided to moved from this place, I made the mistake of getting rid of these bedspread sets and change it for other ones but like I said it was a mistake. The new ones looked like a better quality, were slightly more expensive but that was not the case when I compared it with this Tan set I had in my bed.
I went back to Costco several month later to repurchase them and they were no longer available, not even online. I was even willing to pay a little more just to get them back but too bad they were just gone and I still miss them.
Later on I will show you my new decor set up for my bedroom.
